DEVOURAX SEEKS FUNDING PARTNERS FOR 3-D CGI ANIMATED FEATURE FILM PITCH TITLED,
AUCKLAND ISLAND
July 1, 2004 - Creator Devourax, is looking for a private investor/ investment group to fund a 3-D CGI
animated family feature film idea based on a fictional legend (comprised with historical facts) about New
Zealand titled "Auckland Island."
During the 1800's, off the northern coast of New Zealand, there is a mysterious island called Auckland.
Auckland has flourished because it has been protected by an ancient tribal curse, keeping it pure and
untouched from all humankind. Over time, as the northern shores of New Zealand become a dry and
barren wilderness, the exalted Auckland Island shines as a beacon of hope to those who remain on the
dusty shores of New Zealand. According to the legend, Auckland’s curse must be broken within 100 years,
or it's beautiful, lush, tropical bounty will sink into the depths of the sea, forever. As a result, all surrounding
coastal areas of New Zealand will wither and become a baked deserted wasteland. The native Maori and
the early Europeans compete to be the first to withstand and overturn the curse in all of its' majestic strength
and fortitude. This film is about one culture reclaiming their heritage, and another culture that desires the
island for its wealth and bounty.
Auckland Island is an animated action-adventure film pitch based on the desire of the Maori forefathers to
preserve their rich heritage for future generations.
Joseph, a young 17-year-old Maori boy, along with his best friend Mokie, together are determined to break
the curse. They must overcome great adversity to save their families, their culture, and the entire coastal
mainland of New Zealand from desolation.
Will they break the curse? Who will claim Auckland?

"Originally, I envisioned this project as a children's/juvenile book, but it became increasingly clear that this story pitch would be best
suited as a Feature Film. Auckland Island has many possibilities in pushing the envelope of CG.
“The rich tropical culture, and gorgeous oceanic setting as envisioned could only be achieved by using cutting edge computer animation.
I am thrilled about the story and its potential. This story definitely belongs in the theater." Said Creator Devourax. "I am currently developing
characters that have distinct personalities full of depth and appeal as well as an endearing humor. I want to take our audience on an
adventure they will never forget."
This Feature Film could have something that everyone will enjoy, no matter their age or tastes. "Our hope is that families would be
enchanted by the film and inspired by it’s story of bravery and humanity. We would also hope that this generation would rediscover the
importance of tolerance toward one another.”
"We fully believe that this film could be a memorable adventure that would be viewed and cherished by families for many years to come,"
says Devourax.
